Hey There Little Red Riding Hood, You Sure Are Looking Good
NEW TIME! Wednesday, November 19, 2025, 6pm, Virtual Talk
Jessica C. Hume, Ph.D., Exec. Director, OSPO

The story of an innocent girl in a red cloak wandering alone in a forest has been around a lot longer than many of us realize, and there are many more variations than the French classic “Le Petit Chaperon Rouge,” (used for most English versions). So, few readers realize that most “Little Red Riding Hood” stories are really about female sexuality, male beastliness, temptation, and exploration. Contemporary variations continue to play on these themes, integrating queerness and gender fluidity. Kiddos should stay on the path to grandma’s house for this talk. Adults only. Optional informal discussion to follow.

Register for this virtual event, here.

Dowling House Holiday Market, December 6, 3pm-7pm

Find the OSPO tent at the Dowling House holiday market. Our spot will be outdoors, but we’ll welcome you into our closed, heated tent. We’ll have OSPO jewelry, bookmarks, “Love Travels” postcards, and “Lick Stamps, Not Boots” postcards (very popular at the last market).

Grownup Letters to Santa
Starting on Thanksgiving Day and Ending on Christmas Day
*YOU* get a postcard for *FREE *

We’re reviving the lost art of snail mail with a cheeky holiday twist. Remember the magic of writing to Santa as a kid? Now it’s your turn again—only this time, it’s for grown-ups. Write your very own letter to Santa about what you really want for Christmas. Maybe it’s a lush weighted blanket to snuggle under, the mysterious disappearance of every Labubu on the planet, the demise of tyranny, or just more quiet mornings with coffee. We want to hear about it. Send it out on paper, seal it in an envelope, and drop it in the mailbox. We’ll collect, share, and celebrate these wish-lists with our internet community. Tell us what Santa is bringing you! We’ll read several per week and post them as reels on Instagram.
